Hawthorne Fortitude wins the 2007 Mark Twain Award

Congratulations!

Hawthorne-Fortitude Lodge #200 has achieved the distinction of winning a Twain Award for 2007. Your lodge clearly demonstrated Masonic Awareness both within the lodge and the community.

You will shortly be receiving some bookmarks listing Hawthorne-Fortitude Lodge as one of the 2007 Twain Award Winners and a DVD highlighting some of the achievements of the winning lodges. Also, the Masonic Information Center is preparing a news release which will be e-mailed to you.

A date for presenting the Twain Award will be announced later. We would like it to be at your next Grand Lodge Session or at an earlier date if you are having a special event. We will contact your Grand Lodge. Please let us know if there is a special time you would like the presentation if not at Grand Lodge.

Thanks for your participation in the 2007 Twain Award Program. We at the Masonic Information Center are very proud of what Hawthorne-Fortitude Lodge was able to accomplish.

AREA BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULED

In an effort to meet our community's growing need for blood, Hawthorne-Fortitude Lodge is

sponsoring a blood drive on Tuesday June 10th, 2008 at 24 North Franklin Turnpike, Ramsey, from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

The drive is open to the entire community.

"Helping Others In The Community Is What It's All About"

"It is very important to  to give blood to help our fellow neighbor", stated Cory Sigler, Blood Drive Chairperson.  "Currently donations are down 15% as compared to last year, so every donation counts and we need your help".  As we approach the holiday season and people are caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season, donations drop dramatically.  Free cholesterol test will be given.  Please come to our drive on Tuesday, June 10th from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  Your donation could save someone's life, and there is no better gift you could ever give, especially at this time of year."

Almost anyone can be a lifesaving hero.  Blood donors must be at least age 17, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health.  The blood donation process takes less than an hour and includes a free mini medical exam (temperature, iron count, pulse and blood pressure).  Photo or signature ID is required and knowledge of Social Security Number.

To make a convenient donation appointment, call 1-800-933-BLOOD.  Walk-in donors are also welcome.

The blood drive is administered by the New Jersey Blood Services, one of five regions of New York Blood Center , the nation's largest independent blood collection and distribution organization.  New Jersey Blood Services aims to distribute 90,000 pints of blood annually for patients in 60 New Jersey hospitals
